Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue — Apex Predator Enclosure
Petaluma, CA
Kenwood Fence Co. built all of the caging for the largest APEX predator enclosure in the nation, completed in August 2026 for Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue in Petaluma. The structure was engineered to safely house and rehabilitate black bears and mountain lions — heavy-gauge chain link across the walls and full roof caging, tied into a steel framework built to take the load of animals that can climb, push, and pull far harder than any residential fence will ever see. Every panel, splice, and gate was installed to meet the standards required for permanent apex-predator housing, with dedicated support and oversight from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. It's a job that took the same crew that hangs backyard gates and asked them to work at a completely different scale — and it's one we're proud to have our name on.
