Mill Valley — 42" Hog Wire Fence on Sloped Driveway

Safety and boundary fence along a steep Mill Valley driveway that runs out over a hillside overhang. The 42 in. tall panels are redwood-framed with galvanized hog wire infill and a wide flat cap rail that follows the grade of the drive. Because much of the run sits over a cantilevered deck edge with no soil to set posts in, we fabricated custom galvanized steel brackets and base plates in our shop and through-bolted each post to the structure below. The result is a rigid, code-height railing that keeps the open views and the natural redwood look the property called for.
